Before turning to care, from 1990 to 2000 Cole worked in information technology across various roles, collaborating with major companies. That decade immersed in systems, code, and organisational logic gave him a sharp, analytical lens — one that would later prove invaluable in decoding the complex interplay between technology and human fragility.

Drawing on a long and intense nursing career lived in both countries, Cole places his frontline experience at the heart of his second book — a tribute to the humanity born in the bond of care, reminding us that technology can never replace the warmth of human presence.
